Mike Babcock says he'd be willing to take rival team's star player.

It seems like Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock thinks the Montreal media has been too hard on one of the Montreal Canadiens' star players. 

In a recent media scrum Babcock was asked for his thoughts about veteran defenseman Shea Weber, a man that Babcock has worked with in the past as a result of the connection both men have with Hockey Canada. 

Babcock's response was both comical and curious as he stated that if the Canadiens, or perhaps he meant the Montreal media, weren't happy with him that the Leafs would glady take him off their hands.

'If you guys don't want him, we'll take him,' said Babcock.

While we highly doubt the Canadiens have any interest in trading the star defenseman, especially given how weak their defense appears to be on paper, it's interesting to see Babcock leave that door open.
