Mike Hoffman is asking for a lot of money!

He still remains on the free agent market…

The free-agent market in the National Hockey League has been open for the past week and there are still big names out there still without a contract  in part due to the economic situation in the league and teams reluctant to offer big deals at this time.

The best player who currently remains available is probably forward Mike Hoffman, who could be a great boost up front and on the power-play to any contending team out there. However, Hoffman is set on what he’s worth and looking to earn for the next season, and he is apparently not willing to reduce his price.

While Tyler Toffoli signed for an annual average value of 4.25 million on a four-year contract in Montreal and Evgenii Dadonov for a three-year, $5 million deal in Ottawa, TSN reporter Frank Seravalli reports that Hoffman is looking to get a deal with an annual value of $5.5 to $ 6.5 million per season, depending on the length of the contract.

Seravalli adds that three teams are interested in acquiring his services: the Nashville Predators, the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Boston Bruins. The Canadiens were reportedly also part of the interested teams, but that was before announcing the signing of Toffoli.

The 30-year-old Hoffman put up a record of 29 goals and 30 assists for a total of 59 points in 69 games with the Panthers last season. So we get why he wants big money.

However, with everything that happened this year with the COVID-19 pandemic and the flattened salary cap, we can’t guarantee he will get what he seeks.

So, where do you think he will end up for 2020-21?
