Mike Milbury appears to advocate for intentionally injuring players.

Absolutely no one is surprised when Mike Milbury says something that probably would have been better left unsaid, but he may actually have a point here.

During an intermission segment of the NBC broadcast of the San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues Western Conference Final Milbury appeared to advocate in the favor of injuring opposing players. Now to be clear, no one should want to see another player receive an injury, significant or otherwise, and especially not when that injury occurs as the result of a dirty play.

However the core of Milbury's argument here was that if a player is already delivering the kind of cheap shot that will leave his team in a hole, he would rather see that player improve his team's chances of winning by injuring the player, albeit not too seriously. If you sincerely put yourself in the shoes of most NHL coaches and fans, especially in the heat of the moment, there is probably more than a little truth to what Milbury says here.

With that said, it may have been one of those things Milbury should have left unsaid, you can have a listen to his comments below.
