Penguin fans who were looking forward to seeing Calgary Flames forward Jaromir Jagr face off against his former team got some disappointing news on Wednesday when it was revealed that Jagr would continue to be sidelined due to injury.

The National Hockey League legend was injured and subsequently placed on injured reserve earlier this season during a match up against the Minnesota Wild, and while he would now be eligible following the IR designation, it appears that he remains too hurt to play.

Jagr spent the majority of his over 1700 NHL game career as a major superstar in the Pittsburgh market, so it's no surprise that fans of the Penguins were looking to forward to watching him match up against some of their current star players.

Flames broadcaster Derek Willis confirmed that Jagr would be out for Thursday's game, however he did not make any statements regarding when Jagr is expected to return to the Flames line up.
