More than one player to test positive for COVID-19 in Ottawa!

Just five days after the NHL announced it would pause its 2019-20 season due to the coronavirus outbreak, a first player in the league has been tested positive for COVID-19 late on Tuesday night.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman was first to report that a member of the Ottawa Senators had tested positive.

However, The Athletic later reported that there might be more than one case in the Senators’ dressing room.

“It is believed that multiple Senators players are ill and awaiting test results to determine how many have been infected.”

Every member of the Senators is now in isolation “to monitor their health and seek advice from team medical staff,” according to the team.

The Senators did not reveal the identity of the player in their official statement and we won’t know who else might test positive.

Fans aren’t thrilled about the idea of not knowing who is dealing with the virus, but insiders and team officials maintain that the important thing is that he or they will be treated.
