More trouble for the Carolina Hurricanes after cancelling last night's game.

The Carolina Hurricanes has one of the most embarrassing moments of the National Hockey League season when they were forced to cancel a game against the Detroit Red Wings, and they are now facing more problems as a result of that cancellation.

It appears that the Hurricanes will be forced to cover the expenses of the Detroit Red Wings as a result of the cancellation. John Shannon of Sportsnet is reporting that according to NHL rules. since the Hurricanes were responsible for the poor quality of the ice, they are stuck footing the bill.

While that wouldn't be an issue for several NHL teams, for a team like the Hurricanes who can barely draw fans and are reportedly bleeding money, being stuck with additional expenses is the last thing they needed.

It's unclear at this just how much the Hurricanes will have to fork out to the Red Wings.
