Multiple contenders targeting the same forward for potential trade.

It's mid January and the Arizona Coyotes already find themselves completely out of contention and as a result the trade speculation around their players has been extensive.

This week during a radio segment with Bob Stauffer on Oilers Now, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman touch on the talk surrounding two of Arizona's players. First according to Friedman both the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks touched based with the Coyotes to discuss the possibility of acquiring veteran forward Martin Hanzal, although no deal has materialized and Friedman believes the high price set by general manager John Chayka may be the cause.

In a new bit of news Friedman added that 26-year-old Coyotes defeseman Michael Stone was also on the trading block, but once again the high pruce set by the Coyotes has yet to be matched by the organizations that have inquired about him.

Perhaps most interesting of all however was Friedman's belief that Stone is more likely to be traded than Hanzal at this point, if only due to the price the Coyotes set for Hanzal.
