Multiple reports point to Chris Pronger GM hiring

In case you missed it, there were some SERIOUS shakeups in the NHL yesterday. Both the Florida Panthers and Buffalo Sabres made changes behind the bench.

Bob Boughner is out in Florida, while Phil Housley is out in Buffalo. While no hiring has been made yet in Buffalo,  well the Panthers have managed to lure three time Stanley Cup champion Joel Quenneville.

Quenneville was officially hired by the Panthers earlier today in, frankly, a move that NO ONE saw coming.

Now, less than 48 hours after the Quenneville hiring there are multiple reports that seem to indicate that NHL legend and Panthers senior advisor Chris Pronger will be named Panthers GM…eventually. Dale Tallon holds the position currently, but again multiple reports seem to indicate that Pronger is being groomed for the position.

Interesting… 

I mean, could you imagine negotiating a contract with Chris FRIGGIN Pronger? He’d probably laugh off your first offer and cross check you in the back for even making it…

In all seriousness, all indications are that Pronger has been nothing but a consummate professional since his contract officially expired in 2017. He’s been with the Panthers organization ever since and, again, many believe he’s being groomed by Tallon to be the team’s next general manager.
