Important game ahead for the Philadelphia Flyers against the New York Rangers as they are currently battling with the Boston Bruins for the last wild card place. The Flyers (23-19-6--52) and the Bruins (23-21-6--52) are tied in a close race to the spring dance. One thing is sure, to win that race, Philadelphia will certainly need more offensive contribution from their captain Claude Giroux.

Giroux has only 11 goals so far this year which is slightly under his projected production. Claude has always been a true competitor and puts a lot of pressure on him. According to GM Ron Hextall, that may be his best asset but also what gets him in trouble sometimes. 

"I think he's pressing too hard" said Ron Hextall about Giroux. He sure likes his competitiveness but you gotta find a balance.

"G wants to be successful in everything; hopefully something good happens for him and he gets rolling. He's too good of a player to play like this."

When asked about Hextall's quote, Giroux faced the music and went in the same direction as his GM "You want to succeed and want to play the best you can - and sometimes you push it a little too much,".

One thing is sure, the Philadelphia Flyers will definitely need Giroux on top of his game to clinch a playoff spot.
