Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin opened the scoring against the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night, and this goal must have a special flavor for him! Dumoulin, 26, was drafted 51st overall by the Hurricanes in 2009. He was traded to the Penguins in 2012 with Brandon Sutter in a deal that sent Jordan Staal to Carolina.

In 201 games played in the NHL (all with the Penguins), the Biddeford, Maine native registered 36 points, and added 14 points in 54 playoff games.

Before tonight's game, he had three points and ten penalty minutes in 38 games played.

The Penguins are currently leading 1-0 after the first period.
