Pittsburgh Penguins forward Conor Sheary opened the scoring for his team against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night, giving them an early 1-0 lead. He accepted a perfect pass from Dominik Simon to score his 12th goal of the season. The Sharks eventually tied the game, thanks to Timo Meier who scored his tenth goal of the season. The game is currently tied at 1-1 after the first period. 

Sheary signed as an undrafted free agent with the Penguins organization in 2014. He played 153 games in the NHL so far, scoring 41 goals and 39 assists for a total of 80 points. He added 17 points in 45 playoff games. Before tonight's game, the 25-year old forward had 11 goals and six assists for a total of 17 points in 48 games played.

The Penguins are currently fifth in the Metropolitan division with a record of 25-20-3.
