The NHL’s newest franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights, have done a great job both on and off the ice of making new fans in its inaugural season. On the ice, the expansion team has been electric  with a 3-1-0 record through its first four games. Off the ice, the team’s social media game on Twitter has been even better.

The team has taken shots at itself and the rest of the league and has won fans over with its irreverent sense of humor. But during today’s game against the Boston Bruins, the Vegas Twitter account made a joke referencing the popular movie "Ted" that angered some fans on social media.

The anger stems from fans who missed the reference and assumed that the team was belittling women in their joke. While it’s unlikely that the team will lose many fans as a result of this poorly made joke, do you think it’ll make them think twice before making assumptions again?
