Must See: Jets’ Wheeler slams President Trump!

Winnipeg Jets captain Blake Wheeler, never one to fear stirring the pot a little, took to social media last night with a scathing criticism of American President Donald Trump.

Wheeler of course is reacting to the uproar caused online by Trump’s comments about NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick electing to take a knee during the Star Spangled Banner in a recent game. 

Trump slammed Kaepernick, saying, “wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!’”

Athletes throughout professional sport are taking to social media to protest what they see as a violation of their first amendment right to protest the singing of the National Anthem. What’s your take? Is Wheeler out of line here? Or, is it the President who needs to reconsider his line of thinking?
