Toronto Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk opened the scoring with his 18th of the season in the second period of the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. He redirected Roman Polaks' point shot behind Sergei Bobrovsky to give his team a 1-0 lead! Van Riemsdyk now has 18 goals and ten assists for 28 total points in 43 games.


William Nylander later scored on the power play to give the Leafs a 2-0 lead. He fired a perfect shot that gave absolutely no chance to Bobrovsky. It was Nylander's ninth goal of the season. The Swedish forward has now nine goals and 22 assists for 31 points in 44 games.


The shots are now 25-22 in the favor of the Blue Jackets.
