MUST SEE: Marchand likely facing suspension after vicious hit on Tavares
Keystone Press

It was quite an intense match between the Boston Bruins and the New York Islanders on Saturday. Earlier in the third period, Brad Marchand was assessed a major penalty (Interference) for his high hit on star player John Tavares

The incident followed an innocent hit on David Pastrnak, as you will see in the video below.

We are all aware of Marchand’s history and as a true repeat offender under Department of Player Safety rules, we might see supplemental discipline forthcoming for the Bruins star forward.

Marchand has already missed eight games this season due to injuries.

His last suspension took place last year, when he was suspended two games for spearing Tampa Bay LIightning’s Jake Dotchin.

Tavares seemed to be a little shaken up initially but remained in the game.
