On the opening night of the 2016-17 NHL season, Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Auston Matthews made an incredible impression on the hockey world. It was a historic debut in a 5-4 loss for the Leafs in which Matthews scored each of his team’s four goals.
Following the game, Sens goaltender Craig Anderson, who certainly has a unique sense of humour, sought out the Leafs phenom and requested an autograph to commemorate the historic occasion.
Matthews signed Anderson’s game stick:
"Thanks FOUR making my first game memorable"
AWESOME. How cool is that? Clearly both these guys have a sense of humour about themselves and the situation.
