Must See: NHL team removes ads from its boards

Tonight will be a historic night in the city of Las Vegas. The city’s first professional sports franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights, officially open up T-Mobile Arena with their home opener against the Arizona Coyotes

With all the city has gone through in the wake of the October 1st massacre that left 58 people dead and 489 injured, its residents can rally tonight and cheer on THEIR home team for the first time in history. To commemorate the occasion and to show their solidarity with the city in a tragic time, the Golden Knights have elected to remove any advertisements from their boards. Instead, the boards will read “Vegas Strong.” It’s a powerful visual that has to be seen to be believed:


How cool is that? While the bittersweet pre-game ceremony is sure to be emotional, we personally love to see some of the corporate elements removed from the game.
