Toronto Maple Leafs forward Patrick Marleau scored his 16th goal of the season Monday night against the Colorado Avalanche to tie the game at 1-1. This goal came only 19 seconds after the start of the second period! This was also Marleau's first goal in 2018.
Auston Matthews later gave his team a 2-1 lead, scoring his 21st goal of the season only a couple of minutes after he saw his goal being disallowed because of goaltender interference.
The Avalanche eventually tied the game, so we're now tied at 2-2 after 40 minutes played.
The Leafs are third in the Atlantic division with a record of 26-17-5.
The Avalanche are currently fifth in the Central division with a record of 26-16-3 after finishing dead last with a record of 22-56-4.
