In honor of the late great Ed Snider, the Philadelphia Flyers unveiled a statue of the man who established, built and guided the franchise for  nearly 50 years outside of Wells Fargo Center this past Thursday.

Snider is responsible for brining the NHL to Philadelphia back in 1967 and was the man behind the scenes through much of the team’s success, including two Stanley Cup championships in 1974 and 1975. Sadly, Snider passed away at age 83 in April, 2016 but his presence will be forever memorialized outside of the team’s arena thanks to the new statue.

However, just hours after it was unveiled, one Pittsburgh Penguins fan paid the ultimate disrespect to the team, its fans and to Ed Snider himself. Check it out:

Understandably so, this made A LOT of Flyers fans angry. The firestorm of hatred and insults hurled online was downright nasty… we’re not even going to go there.

Look we understand having a laugh at your rival team's fanbase, but when it comes at the expense of insulting the honor of a person who has just passed... it's probably best to keep it to yourself.
