New York Rangers' forward Jimmy Vesey took a skate to the face on Saturday afternoon after he collided with Zack Kassian, as the Rangers were facing the Edmonton Oilers. Everybody held their breath at the Madison Square Garden when the 24-year-old held his face in his hands, just seconds after he fell on the ice.

Ouch. Sportsnet also posted a video where we can clearly see the impact pretty clearly, as well as the moment when he left the ice. You can notice Kassian looked absolutely horrified after he realized what just happened :


The young winger suffered a pretty scary injury, but it turns out it wasn't too serious. He posted a photo of hs bloody lip on social media right after the game, with a copy of the "unusual" X-Rays:


In 18 games this year, Vesey scored four goals and one assist for a total of five points.
