Calgary Flames goaltender Mike Smith has always had a flair for fashion. During his days with the Arizona Coyotes, the big goalie was famous for sporting a Wile E. Coyotes mask and all-black gear. With the Tampa Bay Lightning he rocked an X-men inspired mask and with the Dallas Stars he donned a cowboy inspired bucket. Now with the Flames, Smith has decided to tap into the local again for his new design.
Check it out:
Designed and painted by artist David Arrigo, the mask celebrates the history and tradition of The Calgary Stampede. According to Arrigo, “Smitty wanted to go over the top with a design celebrating the long tradition of everything Stampede; chuck wagons and horses.”
In that case, I’d say Arrigo nailed it! What do you think, Flames fans? Pass or fail?
