The shocking death of former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Roy Halladay left the entire sports world reeling on Tuesday. But nowhere was it felt more greatly than in the city of Toronto. Halladay is perhaps the greatest player in Blue Jays history and his untimely death at just 40 years-old sent shockwaves through the city.

In a move of total class, the Toronto Maple Leafs held a moment of silence prior to their game against the Minnesota Wild last night. They also displayed this touching tribute to the man they call “Doc”:

Such a tragedy. A fantastic ball player. A better human. A husband. A father. The city of Toronto lost a true hero this week. RIP, Doc.
