The United States of America were 0-7 against the Russians in the medal round of the World Junior Championship, but they finally broke the curse on Wednesday.

Regulation wasn't enough to determine a winner as both sides battled hard in their attempt to advance to the Gold Medal game where they would face the winner of the match up between Canada and Sweden on the other side of the bracket.

It was an epic shoot out performance from Troy Terry, an Anaheim Ducks prospect who was drafted in the fifth round(148th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, who scored in the initial 5 round affair before adding two more goals on two more shoot out attempts to seal the deal for the USA.
