Muzzin crushes Corey Perry, draws a penalty and scores his first goal with the Leafs

From the moment the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired Jake Muzzin from the Los Angeles Kings, the Toronto based hockey media in Canada has gone into full on “Muzz Mode” promoting the blue liner.

There’s no denying that the Leafs’ acquisition of Muzzin has made a strong team even stronger, but the hype from the media makes it seem like he’s a cross between Scott Niedermayer and Scott Stevens… and you know what? Given his performance in tonight’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, they might be onto something.

Muzzin notched his first point as a Leaf with an assist on Andreas Johnsson’s goal earlier in the game and then TRULY made his presence felt with a big hit, a drawn penalty and his first goal as a Leafs shortly after.

Check out this sequence:

Not bad, Muzz. Not bad at ALL.
