The postseason has kicked off in the Kontinental Hockey League back in Russia and one familiar face made headlines on Monday as he took part in quite an intense fight.

Nail Yakupov, the former first overall pick of the Edmonton Oilers, signed a two-year deal with KHL powerhouse SKA St. Petersburg this past summer and is now working hard to extend his club's run into the postseason for the Gagarin Cup.

However, his opponent Alexander Yelesin stepped in his track and manhandled the 25-year-old in a epic KHL fight. The SKA is playing Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Conference semifinals and tempers have certainly heated up.

Despite getting his head punched in a few times during the bout, Yakupov still managed to record his club's only goal in the 3-1 Lokomotiv win. However, he sure didn't look too good during that fight.

In the six years Yakupov played in the NHL, he was in a total of four fights. He didn't have enough experience to take on his opponent here.

Yakupov played four years in Edmonton, one in St. Louis and one in Colorado.

Many people believe Yakupov was one of the the worst No. 1 NHL picks and will surely appreciate seeing the forward getting punched in the face so many times during this epic fight.
