Toronto Maple Leafs' forward Nazem Kadri has come under fire since his big hit on Vancouver Canucks' forward Daniel Sedin, and on Monday he addressed the hit.

Many felt the hit was not clean, and even Daniel Sedin's brother Henrik Sedin was very critical of Kadri calling it a "textbook terrible hit" however Kadri obviously disagrees with that assessment.

"I felt like I hit him in the shoulder," said Kadri as per TSN's James Mirtle.

"I did hit him in the body & that was the main point of contact & I'm glad the league felt the same way," said Kadri as per TSN's Mark Masters.

While Daniel was rocked on the play, he has suffered no long-term injury, and it appears the National Hockey League agrees with Kadri's version of events as no suspension was issued for the hit. Kadri expressed that he was glad Daniel escaped injury.

"I'm happy he's okay obviously."

Here's the hit for those who missed it.
