New Leafs forward Kyle Clifford is FIRED UP to be coming home

In case you missed it last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Los Angeles Kings hooked up on a late night deal with three players changing locales.

The @MapleLeafs have acquired goaltender Jack Campbell and forward Kyle Clifford from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for forward Trevor Moore, Columbus’ third round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and a conditional third round pick in 2021. #LeafsForever

The Leafs pick up goalie Jack Campbell to replace Michael Hutchinson, who simply has not gotten the job done this season, while also picking up fourth line forward Kyle Clifford. Heading to LA is California native Trevor Moore and two 3rd round picks.

Clifford, for one, is FIRED UP about the transaction and took to social media last night to let fans know.

The Ayr, Ontario native is no stranger to the Leafs organization. He grew up as a young Leafs fan and played three seasons with the Barrie Colts of the OHL before moving on to pro hockey with the AHL’s Manchester Monarchs.

He also has an interesting history with Leafs GM Kyle Dubas.
