We are drawing ever closer to the National Hockey League's annual All Star Game and it sounds like the names of some of the players who have earned the honor of being called an NHL All Star are beginning to leak out.

Reporter Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press appears to have gotten his hands on some of the information as he is now providing a steady stream of updates as he reveals the names of the All Star participants from more and more teams. So far Whyno has shared the names of players who will be representing the Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, Columbus Blue Jackets, Arizona Coyotes, and Washington Capitals, but he has made it clear that these are only some of the names so far.

According to Whyno it will be defenseman Dougie Hamilton who will represent the Carolina Hurricanes, forward Travis Konecny will represent the Flyers, forward Anthony Duclair will represent the Senators, Artemi Panarin will represent the Rangers,  the defending Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues will have 3 players on hand in captain Alex Pietrangelo, forward Ryan O'Reilly and goaltender Jordan Binnington, and the Capitals will be represented by defenseman John Carlson and goaltender Braden Holtby, with Ovechkin obviously skipping out on the All Star Game.

Interestingly enough Whyno has also revealed that goaltender Joonas Korpisalo of the Blue Jackets was selected but unfortunately he suffered an injury last night and is likely to be unable to participate. The same is true of Coyotes goaltender Darcy Kuemper who is also currently injured and will likely be replaced as will Korpisalo.
