The National Hockey League has announced the early results for their fan All-Star vote for the upcoming NHL All-Star Game to be held in Tampa Bay Florida, and unsurprisingly some fans feel their favorite players have been snubbed.

In the Atlantic Division the three leaders are the three most offensively gifted players in that division so the result comes as little surprise. Getting first in Tampa Bay Lightning star Steve Stamkos followed closely by teammate Nikita Kucherov and behind them is Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Auston Matthews.

In the next division, the Pacific Division, the controversy begins however. The top three are Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid who is followed by Calgary Flames star forward Johnny Gaudreau and rounding out the top 3 is Las Vegas Golden Knights veteran James Neal.

Fans in Los Angeles have been the most vocal to complain about this list as they feel star center Anze Kopitar should have made it into the top 3. With 34 points in 29 games this season and his Kings' leading the division, they certainly have a case to make.

The result for the Metropolitan Division are no surprise however there are two fan bases who may have room to complain nonetheless. The top 3 is a trio of NHL superstars with Washinton Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin leading the way at #1 followed by Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby and New York Islanders star center John Tavares.

The New Jersey Devils and the Columbus Blue Jackets who are #1 and #2 in the division at this moment may feel they have been unfairly snubbed however.

The results for the Central Division have caused the loudest controversy to be sure with fans of the Winnipeg Jets furious that none of their players have made the list.

The top three for the Pacific Division are Nashville Predators star defenseman P.K. Subban, St. Louis Blues star forward Vladimir Tarasenko and three-time Stanley Cup Champion Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks. Interesting to note for the Central as well is the fact that Blues fans believe Jaden Schwartz should also have made the list.

You can never keep everybody happy.
