NHL announces discipline for Hendricks after dirty hit on franchise player.

The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety took some time mulling over their decision on Monday, but announced late in the evening that they would in fact suspend Edmonton Oiler Matt Hendricks.

Hendricks will miss the next three games after he delivered a hit from behind to a vulnerable Aaron Ekblad, arguably the Florida Panthers franchise player, leaving him slow to get up. The suspension won't come cheap, according to NHL.com Hendricks will forfeit $29,838.72 in salary as a result of the games he will miss.
