It was a very busy season for National Hockey League general managers with both the NHL Entry Draft as well as the NHL Expansion Draft for the Las Vegas Golden Knights and that meant a lot of moving players.

On Thursday captain of the Montreal Canadiens Max Pacioretty was asked about the moves made by his team this summer, and there was a tone of disappointment in the voice of Pacioretty who remained professional and fielded questions from the media.

Two of the most notable changes for Pacioretty and the Canadiens next season will be the departure of both forward Alexander Radulov and defenseman Andrei Markov, and Pacioretty was asked about both those players specifically.

"Yeah they're two great players and obviously I think everyone wanted them back but that didn't happen and it's not really my job to speculate why or what went wrong, but it's my job to just move forward with the team we have."

Perhaps sensing an opening, the very same reported quickly asked Pacioretty if he felt the team that the Canadiens currently have was better than the one they had last year, again his answer did not inspire confidence.

"I'm not sure we'll have to see," said Pacioretty as per TVA Sports. "Our job is, whoever is put on the ice, to do the best we can."

The Canadiens did add forward Jonathan Drouin however the Canadiens big need was at center, a need that was not filled, and losing two big names like Radulov and Markov does not appear to have energized in the Habs players to say the least.
