NHL coach blasts his team for being out of shape!

The Arizona Coyotes got their fifth-straight defeat following Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Boston Bruins, as they remain winless on the season, holding an 0-4-1 record.

Head coach Rick Tocchet felt sorry about his team's performance, before questioning his players' conditionning.

"I'm embarrassed," Tocchet told Sarah McLellan of The Arizona Republic. "I apologize to the fans."

“You look down the bench some guys are sucking wind,” Tocchet added. “I don’t understand that after last game why we’re sucking wind. Are we out of shape? I said that before. Is there anxiety when there’s pressure because sometimes when you get anxiety, you get tired. We’re just trying to put our finger on this.”

Tocchet is in his first year behind the Coyotes' bench following an eight-year run by former head coach Dave Tippett. His hiring was part of a major summer overhaul by the team, which has failed to clinch a playoff spot in the past five years.

The offseason makeover also included the acquisitions of Derek Stepan, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Jason Demers, and goaltender Antti Raanta. But they have yet to make a difference at the start of the season...

Maybe Tocchet's harsh comments will turn things around. We will see tonight if Arizona can win their first game when the Coyotes take on the Dallas Stars.
