An entire team laid low.

Well this is certainly a very interesting development.

There apparently has been a pretty serious "sickness" that has been going around a number of locker rooms in the National Hockey League as of late, and we may now know the identity of the locker room that has been hit hardest by the illness. According to a break news report from Washington Capitals insider Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post she has just been informed by Washington Capitals head coach Todd Reirdan that his entire locker room has now been laid low by the illness.

When I say the entire locker room I'm not exaggerating either, it appears that the entire locker room has been impacted by this virus and as a result every single player on his roster is a game time decision according to Reiden. The only player who may not turn out to be a game time decision this week is star forward Evgeny Kuznetsov and that is only due to the fact that he appears to have been one of the first infected by the illness and already had to sit out Washington's previous game against the Minnesota Wild. According to Reirden Kuznetsov is starting to feel better now so that is possibly the one silver lining in this outrageous story.

The nature of the "sickness," as it has been described, is unclear at this time and we don't even know what kind of illness it may prove to be in the end. There have bee reports of flu like symptoms from the players but nothing has been confirmed in that regard at this time. Also no word yet on how the Capitals will look to combat what could be several missing players on their roster come their next match up.

The Capitals are playing later today against a Philadelphia Flyers team that will be playing in their 2nd game of a back to back and thus far there has been no indication regarding who make take the ice for them at this time. The good news is after today the Capitals will get a few days rest, hopefully enough time to fully recover, before they face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday,
