NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman just made a HUGE mistake.

The National Hockey League has been thoroughly embarrassed this week, and Gary Bettman may have just guaranteed that he will be as well.

In one of the worst cases of not knowing your audience I have ever seen, Bettman made a stunning declaration about himself to TSN's Rick Westhead, or more specifically about how NHL fans view him.

I don't get that booed anymore... because if you are a fan you realize the game is pretty good," said Bettman.

So why does Bettman think he's so beloved all of a sudden? Well apparently he thinks it's the stability he's brought to the league, keep in mind when reading this next quote, just a few short months ago when Glendale cancelled their contract with the Coyotes there were serious talks of relocation.

"Our franchises are strongest they've ever been. We're not putting out fires or worrying about teams being stolen to other cities"

Something tells me Bettman is going to get booed out of the building when fans see this.
