According to Wes Gilbertson, the Calgary Flames placed the defenseman Nicklas Grossman on waivers but the sweden-born player didn't report to the Stockton Heat. Elliot Friedman confirmed the report adding that Grossman might have a contract to play oversea but the league hasn't been confirmed yet. One could expect Nicklas to play in his birth country.

Grossman played for Sodertalje SK before coming to the NHL, he also played 4 games for them during the 2012-2013 lockout

The Flames blue-liner played 3 games for Calgary before being an healthy scratch under head coach Glen Gulutzan

If this means his NHL career is over, Grossman would end up with 86 points in 592 games in a 13 seasons timeframe.
