NHL extends the period of self-quarantine for all players

The National Hockey League held a conference call with all general managers on Tuesday and made the decision that the period of self-quarantine for clubs will be extended 10 days past the original date of March 27 (Friday) from the original guidelines.

Last Monday, in light of the CDC’s new directive on large events and mass gatherings issued Sunday covering “the next eight weeks,” the NHL has decided that:

The self-quarantine period should continue within the player’s home through and including Friday, March 27, unless a longer period may be required in accordance with local mandates related to travel. Players should continue to report immediately any symptoms or testing results to club medical staff.

At the end of the self-quarantine period, and depending on world developments between now and then, consideration will be given to allowing the opening of club facilities to players in scheduled and coordinated small groups for voluntary training and care of the players on the same basis as in the off-season.

This is all getting extended seeing that the word of order is to stay home in order to protect yourself and also to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Stay home, people and that includes players!
