Is it a busy week for pending unrestricted free agent Joe Pavelski, who is meeting with a few teams interested in making him an offer on July 1st.

TSN’s Pierre LeBrun was first to report that Pavelski would be meeting with the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning this week, however, late on Wednesday night, it was revealed that he met with both teams on the same day.

Pavelski reportedly met with the Stars, who are determined to add fire up front, on Wednesday morning. After that meeting went down, Pavelski took a plane to Tampa and was spotted by an NHL fan at a table in a restaurant with members of the Lightning management.

The fan was so close, but still managed to be subtle enough to take a picture of the meeting. While he seemed to be near the table where business was happening, the “insider” didn’t make any of it public on social media… yet.

LeBrun also reported that Pavelski will be meeting with a third team this week, but does not know which club that is.

In his 31 Thoughts column on Sportsnet, Elliotte Friedman reported that the Chicago Blackhawks were hoping to convince Pavelski to meet with them despite the fact that they haven’t contended in the playoffs for the last two years.

While Pavelski hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning to San Jose, he wants to keep his options open, but is hoping to play for a contending club.

The 34-year-old scored 38 goals and posted 64 points in 75 games this season. He was limited to 13 games during the playoffs due to injuries, including hand surgery and head trauma, but still managed to record four goals and nine points.

Let’s see if this fan can give us more info on Pavelski’s future! ;)
