Captain of the Winnipeg Jets Blake Wheeler was not silent on social media in regards to US President Donald Trump's recent comments about NFL players.
Many athletes have been calling out President Trump for his comments about players taking a knee during the National Anthem including Lebron James but Blake Wheeler and his teammate Evander Kane seem to be the only NHL players to have taken to social media about this issue. Wheeler has been mostly praised for his tweet about Donald Trump.
