NHL forward will pay a heavy price for nasty sucker punch.

Dirty cheap shot will cost him a pretty penny.

The National Hockey League has come down hard on Arizona Coyotes player Peter Holland.

On Saturday night Holland took a big hit from Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ondrej Palat, one that drilled him into the boards and knocked him to the ground. Likely frustrated by the hit, Holland decided to get revenge in very dirty fashion, dropping a glove and delivering a sucker punch to an unsuspecting Palat.

That sucker punch will cost Holland the maximum allowable fine under the collective bargaining agreement the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced on Tuesday, a sum in the amount of $3,611.11.

Palat was rocked by the punch and knocked down to the ice, so the hefty fine seems more than fair here.
