After a major trade rumor was reported yesterday on National Hockey League general manager has come right out and confirmed it himself.

According to a report from Davids Staples, Edmonton Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli has confirmed that he will seriously consider trading his 4th overall pick in this year's draft, hopefully in exchange for a top level defenseman.

“There’s a real legitimate chance to look to move this pick, to improve our team — to get bigger or to get a D and get something else. There’s also a chance, as I said in my previous comments, that we could move the pick to get an AHL (NHL?) defenceman, too. That is a top four defenceman. We’re going to look at a lot of different things.”

We don't know who the Oilers have been talking to, but when it comes to a pick this high up in the draft you would have to imagine nearly every single NHL team will be calling the Oilers to at least inquire about what it would take to move up to #4.
