One of the National Hockey League's longest tenured general managers may be feeling the pressure.

Despite the fact that his Detroit Red Wings have had a long history of success, recent struggles as well as questionable contractual decisions have led many to believe that Red Wings general manager Ken Holland may be on the hot seat.

Kevin Allen of USA Today recently fielded questions from his readers and among them was a question regarding why Ken Holland remained general manager of the Wings headed into the 2017-2018 NHL season.

"Because he's had a long history of success," answered Allen. "But he's feeling the heat now."

This would appear to be confirmation that Holland is indeed on the hot seat, and one has to wonder what the breaking point will be. Some rumors have suggested that losing Andreas Athanasiou to the Kontinental Hockey League could be that breaking point should it come to pass.
