NHL GM publicly reveals he's willing to make a deal 9 days before the deadline.

The trade deadline is less than two weeks away and one National Hockey League general manager has just publicly signaled that he is willing to make a deal.

Early this morning credentialed Florida Panthers reporters from the Cats on the Prowl blog revealed that general manager Dave Tallon stated he would be open to making moves at the deadline, but despite the current state of his team, he is reportedly looking to be a buyer.

It's unclear what Tallon is aiming for with his team currently on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, but the Florida Panthers general manager is apparently even willing to deal prospects but "it has to be for the right assets."

The fact that Tallon has gone public with his comments seem to indicate that he is attempting to signal to rival GMs that he is prepared to make a serious move.
