NHL goalie is apparently on the market.

We haven't heard any rumors to suggest that veteran goaltender Michal Neuvirth is on the trading block, but the man himself certainly appears to believe that the Flyers are looking to trade him before the deadline.

“For sure, I’m scared,” Neuvirth said as per Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post. “The last three deadlines I’ve been traded twice. For sure, I’m scared, yes.”

Any deal involving Neuvirth however would make a lot of sense for teams looking to add a solid backup goaltender as they had into a playoff run, and while Neuvirth has been shaky this season, his cap hit of just $1,625,000 makes him an extremely affordable option as far as veteran backup goalies are concerned.

Neuvirth has been the better of the Flyers goalie tandem since returning from a knee injury earlier in the season and has seemingly surpassed fellow veteran Steve Mason on the depth chart. If Neuvirth does get dealt it will say a great deal about how general manager Ron Hextall views his team's chances in the postseason.
