NHL insider appears to confirm rumors of potentially blockbuster trade.

There have been big time rumors floating around regarding the possibility of Evander Kane being traded, but no source has sounded more confident than Canucks reporter Jason Botchford.

During a recent radio with TSN's 1040 radio, Botchford indicated his belief that the Vancouver Canucks have every intention of acquiring the forward, or at least putting forward their best attempt to do so.

"You don't have to leave the door open, there's no doubt about it, the Vancouver Canucks are going to be in on Evander Kane."

"I'll break it down, ownership loves Kane, Jim Benning really likes Kane, Trevor may be a little bit ambivalent but he can be won over, they are going to be in on Evander Kane."

While he's confident in his prediction, Botchford doesn't appear to believe that the Canucks are currently in a position where such a move would benefit the organization.

"Kane to me comes with temendous risk, and that's a move you make if it pushes you over the top."

Botchford believes a team on the cusp of being a real contender for a championship is a better fit in such a deal.
