There has been a ton of talk surrounding the future at head coach for the Edmonton Oilers and now it appears we may have an answer. Hockey inside Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet and Hockey Night in Canada joined Brady & Walker on Wednesday and made it clear he belives Todd McLelan is the next coach of the Edmonton Oilers. Friedman believes the announcement will come once McLelan is done coaching at the IIHF WorldChampionship.
"I think he(McLelan) will be, you don't want to make the announcement while he's coaching in Prague you wanna do it when he's back in Edmonton."
Friedman believes that barring something catastrophic McLelan will be coaching the Oilers, however according to Friedman the deal hasn't been signed yet so if some team shows up with an astronomical offer things could change.
"As far as I know there's no signature, and until there is a signature anything can happen."
With that said it does appear Todd McLelan is the next head coach of the Edmonton Oilers.
