NHL legend Don Cherry blasts American performer who butchered Canadian anthem.

National Hockey League legend Don Cherry has sounded off on a National scandal and he didn't mince any words.

Earlier this week during a Major League Baseball game, the Three Tenors absolutely butchered the Canadian National Anthem, using it as a political platform to send a message, instead of honoring the tradition of the anthem.

While the message itself wasn't the source of contention for Cherry, the lack of respect for the country's anthem clearly riled him up, and he released the following statement.

"Oh well, all the left wing weirdos in this country are happy."

"I do feel sorry for the rest of the Tenors," Cherry said. "They will be noted forever as, 'Oh yeah, The Tenors, they're the jerks that embarrassed us at the All-Star game. Ah, they're good singers, but what a bunch of jerks.'

"It's sad, it was only one, and it was done by an American."

Something tells me we won't be seeing the Three Tenors performing in the NHL where a Canadian team is playing any time soon.
