NHL Legend slams the players on his former team.

It hurts so much more when it comes from a Hall of Fame legend.

It's one thing to receive criticism when you're not doing your job, it's another when it comes from one of the most respected men in your organizations history, one who's words resonate with fans both local and internationally.

Former Montreal Canadien, legend, and a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame Guy Lafleur was very critical of his former team, and more specifically of their current roster of players when he spoke to NBC's Pro Hockey Talk.

“It’s strange to see that one man could make a big difference because Carey Price doesn’t score any goals,” Lafleur said as per PHT. “Some of the guys, some of the leaders have to show up a bit more and they have to take charge.”

Lafleur was not directly critical of management, but his opinion on the current Canadiens roster was certainly not an endorsement of the talent Marc Bergevin has assembled and puts out on the nice night in and night out. If anointing it was a damning condemnation of the Canadiens current crop of players.

“The off-season? They have to get some better players (laughs). The way I look at it right now, there’s no first line, second line, third line. I think they have four fourth lines.”

This comes fresh off the heels of comments from another former Canadiens great, who accused the team of ruining the careers of some of it's young prospects. One thing is certain, fans in Montreal aren't the only ones disappointed with the state of their team, the men who helped make it such a historic franchise appear to have had enough as well.
