It seems like the National Hockey League is getting a plan done in order to have play resume this summer. In July more precisely.

Andy Slater of FOX Sports has just reported that the NHL is looking at restarting season in July.

“Games would be played at 4 or 5 neutral sites with limited or no fans, according to Florida Panthers president Matt Caldwell. On the conference call, he said this plan is not finalized.”

We have heard more than once that the NHL is hoping to get back to action this summer in order to finish the 2019-20 season without having an impact on the 2020-21 campaign.

If this scenario takes place, we could see the 2020-21 season get underway in November as some insiders discussed in the past weeks.

This would mean that the 2020-21 season would take place on a condensed schedule, but with a total of 82 games per team nonetheless.
