Teams who currently have an opportunity to close out their series early will want to pay special attention this announcement.
Regardless of who advances to the 2016 Stanley Cup Final we now know that final will begin on Monday May 30th according to an official press release from the National Hockey League on Tuesday.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will be the first team to have a chance to earn some early rest if they can manage to eliminate the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games this evening. The San Jose Sharks will also have the chance to close out their series in six tomorrow when the face off against the St. Louis Blues.
The extra rest, and not to mention one less game to suffer any potential injuries, is a huge deal for both team's, especially with such a short rest should they need a 7th game to advanced.
