We reported yesterday that Red Fisher, one of the most respected and legendary hockey writers, passed away at the age of 91. He covered the Montreal Canadiens for 57 years, and had a tremendous impact on generations of hockey writers.
There has been an outpouring of support from the whole hockey community on Friday, when the tragic news was announced Michael Farber, one of Fisher's former colleagues.
Before Saturday night's game opposing the Habs and the Boston Bruins, a bunch of NHL reporters decided to honor Fisher in the most amazing way possible:
It is needless to say Fisher was a fan of whisky: he apparently took a shot of Chivas prior to each game!
The Montreal Canadiens also held a very touching tribute to Fisher, just minutes before the puck drop:
We would like to offer our sincere condolences once again to the family and friends in this difficult time.
